Gay and Lesbian Issues

People whose lifestyles or preferences are Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, or Indeterminate face all the same problems and issues as everyone else, added to and made more difficult by the social obstacles that confront their sexuality. We are all vulnerable to relationship issues, mood problems, trauma, illness, crisis, stress, and the like; but for some people social alienation, family disapproval, and the need for secrecy to avoid loss of employment, in addition to the disenfranchisement from significant segments of our social system, can create feelings of isolation, with no place to turn for help, support, and encouragement.

Everyone deserves support and help for becoming the best and happiest person they can be. A therapist’s job is to provide that in a safe, confidential, validating therapeutic relationship that supports the client’s feelings of self-worth and empowerment. If you are dealing with issues of sexuality, social stigma, and/or other life concerns, call Samantha (508-207-7149) to set up an introductory appointment. Then you can decide where to go from there.
